Clean Eating Recipes Round Up — Bananas

I don’t know about you, but one of my favorite fruits is bananas. I mean I love all fruit, period, but I do have my favs and bananas are at the top. I eat at least one a day (sometimes two) in some form or another; raw, in a smoothie or on top of oatmeal. The only post-workout recovery drink I ever use is, you guessed it, banana flavored! I am always, always, always on the lookout for new ways to use bananas, so I’ve been on the hunt for new recipes that I want to try and I thought I should share these with my fellow banana-loving-clean-eaters!
Banana Pudding — my granny used to make the best banana pudding ever and I just loved going to her house because I knew she’d have some waiting for me. She taught me how to make it when I got older, of course, but her recipe is considered the “southern” banana pudding, which includes Jell-O pudding, bananas and vanilla wafers. Needless to say, I haven’t had my granny’s pudding in years, but I will definitely be trying this clean banana pudding from Clean Eating Mag.
Frozen Banana Berry Sandwich Bites — these look really good and something that my kids will not only love helping me make, but also eating! I think I’ll try these with the blueberries, but then try another version by swapping out the blueberries for blackberries since I froze a bunch of blackberries we picked last summer and I still have some left.
Banana Pancakes — two of my favorite foods mixed together…bananas and pancakes. Usually I just slice up some banana and top off my pancakes with the slices, but these banana pancakes look delicious with the banana mashed and mixed into the batter. And the best part? They can be frozen!
Banana Ice Cream — really? Banana ice cream with only ONE ingredient?! I loved the homemade banana ice cream that my husband used to make with the ice cream maker we bought him one year for Father’s Day; however, when you make homemade ice cream with an ice cream maker, there’s a ton of white sugar involved and milk, which my body can no longer tolerate. So this is definitely at the top of my to-make list.
Clean Eating Banana Cookies — these are definitely something I want my kids to try because they too love bananas and they also like cookies. I’m sure these will be a hit in our house!
