Clean Eating Week and Green Smoothies — Oh My!
JenniferM | On 24, May 2012
A couple of weeks ago, JenniferE and I were contacted by a sister blogger who asked if we’d be interested in being involved with her cause. Of course, once we read the details, we were so excited (and honored) to be asked to participate in Leigh Anne’s Clean Eating Week! In an effort to raise awareness about eating clean, Leigh Anne of Hart to Heart has posted a clean recipe every day this week and today was the day for our recipe to be posted.
For our guest recipe, JenniferE and I worked on a smoothie recipe (of course!) and I have to say that our Green Smoothie is at the top of my favorites, especially because one of the main ingredients is spinach. JenniferE has been doing green smoothies for quite a while, but I tried to avoid them because I am not much of a spinach eater, even though spinach is a superfood because it’s chock full of essential nutrients and provides many health benefits. I also didn’t think my kids would even entertain the thought of drinking one, even though JenniferE’s kids love these smoothies. Much to my surprise, I can’t even taste the spinach in this recipe and the best part? My picky eater totally loves it, not just because of the cool green color, but the taste as well! According to her, it’s one of “the best” I’ve ever made.
Sound good? If so, you can find the recipe here: Clean Eating Week – Jenn’s Clean Eating Green Smoothie
Enjoy!
If you decide to try the recipe, be sure to let us know what you think!
