Bella NutriPro Juicer Review

Bella NutriPro Juicer Review

| On 04, Feb 2013

Last year, I decided to start juicing to dramatically increase the amount of fruits and veggies (especially greens) in my diet. While I haven’t been super consistent with it, I do love it. Better yet, my kids love making their own juice, which helps me get more nutrition into their picky little mouths. After purchasing my juicer, I learned more about the differences between centrifugal and masticating juicers. Centrifugal juicers (what I bought) use a fast spinning blade that shreds the fruits and veggies into a juice. Masticating juicers slowly squeeze the juice out of them. While both offer the benefits of fresh, nutrient and enzyme rich juice, I learned that masticating juicers are more ideal for greens. Greens were what I really wanted to get more of.

Instead of buying a new juicer, I purchased a NutriBullet (by the makers of the Magic Bullet). It’s a small high-power blender. Well, they actually call it a Super Food Nutrition Extractor. I decided I would make my green smoothies in it and continue to juice other things. I absolutely loved it until it broke after just 5 months of use. My receipt is not where I could have sworn I put it, so I’m out of luck. Unless my handy hubby can revive it, I’m out $80.

Anyway. I must be destined to get those greens in, because within a day of my NutriBullet dying, I was asked to review the Bella NutriPro Juicer (not from the same company as the NurtiBullet). It’s a cold press masticating juicer that is perfectly designed for use with all produce, including greens and wheatgrass! Speaking of wheatgrass, I’ve been experimenting with growing my own and I’ll be sharing more on that later.

I really like this juicer. It’s very sturdy and well made. My husband couldn’t care less about juicing, but took one glance at it and said, “Wow, that thing is nice!” It’s easy to assemble, disassemble, and clean. Yes, cleaning any juicer takes a little time and effort, but I found it very simple. The feeder tube is smaller than the one on my old juicer, so you do have to do more chopping. I don’t mind. A few things that really stand out to me are:

1) It’s quiet. My kids weren’t standing around cringing and holding their ears.
2) The juice tasted better. I didn’t expect this. It had a brighter, richer flavor.
3) You can make sorbet, nut butters, and almond milk!
4) It generates little to no foam. My old juicer created a lot of foam and it irked me.

I made carrot, apple, ginger juice and it was amazing. All three kids sucked it right down and wanted more. The next night we made banana, mango, pineapple sorbet. Heavenly. My ice cream loving 8 year old said it’s even better than ice cream! He also realized since it’s healthy he can have it every day, unlike ice cream. :) I can’t wait to try making my own peanut butter. I will continue to keep you posted on the different combinations we try and how I’m feeling, as I’m determined to make it a daily habit now.

Here are a few words from the makers of the NutriPro Juicer on why it rocks:

With the NutriPro juicer, users are able to get more juice and more nutrients for optimal health and wellness than other conventional juicers by thoroughly squeezing each fruit and vegetable. The Bella NutriPro Cold Press Juicer utilizes a two-stage cold press juicing technology that operates via a chewing (mastication) method to produce high-quality juice from each fruit and vegetable. The single juicing screw in the processing bowl first crushes, the compresses and squeezes out the juice. There are no fast-spinning blades that cut and pulverize the fruits and vegetables to produce juice. With the no-blade, cold press technology, oxidation is minimized, no heat is used, and more nutrients and enzymes are preserved. (Most traditional juicers and blenders that claim to juice use blades that shred and break open the cell walls of the produce, exposing it to oxygen and therefore affecting the integrity of the nutrients and enzymes. Enzymes are a necessity for the health and healing of the body. They help break down foods and tell the nutrients where they are most needed in the body. Enzymes aid digestion, keep you youthful and vibrant and increase energy.)

Besides the health value, the NutriPro Juicer users can get more juice from certain fruits and vegetables than other juicers. For example, the NutriPro got 66% more pineapple juice than one of its main competitors.

Watch it in action here. You can find more recipes or order the NutriPro Cold Press Juicer on their website. They offer a 5 year warranty, free shipping, and a 60-day money back guarantee.

I look forward continuing to juice for health and sharing my experiences with you!
